This recorded webinar provides an overview of NIHB’s Medicaid Unwinding Toolkit for Tribal Enrollment Assisters

At the onset of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, many flexibilities and changes occurred to Medicaid health care coverage—including continuous coverage for Medicaid members without needing annual renewals.

When the Public Health Emergency ends, CMS and state Medicaid agencies will return to normal operations–ending many of the special flexibilities and restarting the annual eligibility reviews. The toolkit includes information and resources for Tribal healthcare professionals on communication and education strategies for unwinding Medicaid and returning to regular operations. The toolkit emphasizes ways states and enrollment assisters should work together to identify and solve enrollment issues related to the Unwinding. The webinar also includes presentations from Tribal enrollment assisters sharing their experiences working with states to prepare for Unwinding.
