NIHB is dedicated to providing comprehensive education to enhance understanding and collaboration in Indian Country. We offer specialized training on working with Tribes— focusing on Tribal sovereignty, cultural competency, and the unique needs of Native communities. Our education programs also include training on navigating the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), helping Tribes and health leaders optimize access to vital health resources and funding. Additionally, we provide public health training to strengthen Tribal capacity in areas such as health promotion, disease prevention, and emergency preparedness. Through these efforts, we aim to equip stakeholders with the knowledge and tools to support and advance the health of Tribal Nations.
Indian Health 101 is an essential training designed to provide a foundational understanding of the unique relationship between American Indian Tribes and the U.S. government regarding health care.
The Working with Tribes Training project and its resulting e-course are intended to educate state and federal government officials on effective engagement with American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes.
Your donation directly supports our programs and services, providing high-quality resources and support to our community.
