Date: Thursday, July 16, 2020
Time: 2:30 PM – 3:45 PM Eastern Time
The Tribal Self-Governance Advisory Committee (TSGAC), will host a Webinar on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm (ET). The TSGAC invites you to participate in a Webinar on the use of COVID-19 stimulus funds. Congress has enacted a series of bills to respond to the pandemic which provide specific pools of funding to Tribes and Tribal organizations. Some of the funds flow to Tribal governments and some are available to those Tribes and Tribal entities operating programs under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act. Each of these pools of funds have different permitted uses, different reporting and recordkeeping requirements, and different timelines on when funds must be spent.
Panelists will summarize the restrictions on use that apply to funding made available to Tribes and Tribal Organizations through the Coronavirus Preparedness Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, P.L. 116-123; the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), P.L. 116-127; the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, P.L 116-136; and the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, P.L. 116-139.
Topics will include the different requirements for funding that Tribes and Tribal Organizations received directly through their Funding Agreements from the $1.032 billion set aside for the IHS in the CARES Act, requirements for the CARES Act Provider Relief Funding, and requirements for the Coronavirus Relief Fund made available to Tribes from the $8 billion set-aside in the CARES Act.
As always, there will be time for discussion and questions/answers.
