NIHB Sends Letter to HHS, CMS on Next Round of Distribution of CARES Act Funding

One April 16, the National Indian Health Board sent a letter to US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma urging both agencies to give the Indian health system the opportunity to benefit by using Medicaid participation or payments to target the remaining allocation of the remaining $70 billion in CARES Act relief funds. NIHB emphasized that directing the funding toward Medicaid providers will help ensure that funding reaches Indian Country, where it is critically needed. Read the letter.
