Request for Tribal Input: Call for Tribal Health Policy Agendas
For its upcoming Tribal Nations Health Summit: 2021 White House Transition meeting scheduled on Wednesday, December 16, the National Indian Health Board (NIHB)is gathering Tribal health policy agendas, priority lists, or health policy requests that Tribes or Tribal organizations have crafted for the new administration or for 2021.
Our request
NIHB invites Tribes or Tribal organizations to share their respective policy agenda, priority list, or similar type of document. NIHB also welcomes Tribes to share any health-related requests that were presented to the current administration. Information shared ensures that the NIHB 2021 Tribal Health Policy Agenda is informed by your Tribe’s priorities.
How will NIHB use the documents?
NIHB will compile a list of Tribal health policy priorities that are shared throughout Indian Country (consensus requests), with an eye to those priorities that can be addressed at the national level. NIHB will share a report-out of the findings at the Summit on December 16. Ultimately, this Tribal input will inform the NIHB 2021 Tribal Health Policy Agenda and direct NIHB’s advocacy efforts with the White House and all federal agencies impacting Tribal health. Please note that NIHB will not share any individual Tribal policy agendas. Our report out at the NIHB Summit will be a summary of findings.
