Our Member Organizations: Regional Leaders in Tribal Health

At the heart of the National Indian Health Board are our 12 Member Organizations, each representing one of the 12 Indian Health Service Areas. As regional experts in public health, these organizations are instrumental in shaping the well-being of Tribal communities across the country.

Collaborative Partnership

Our relationship with the Member Organizations is built on trust, respect, and shared purpose. Together, we address the most pressing health challenges facing Indian Country, from chronic disease prevention to behavioral health support and beyond. This partnership ensures our work is grounded in the expertise and unique perspectives of those who live and serve in these regions.

Guiding Leadership

Our Board of Directors is composed of representatives chosen by these Member Organizations. This structure ensures that our decision-making reflects the priorities and voices of Tribal communities.

Regional Expertise

Each Member Organization brings deep knowledge of the needs and opportunities within their IHS Area. Their work, rooted in local experience, drives innovative solutions and effective public health programs across Indian Country.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we honor our responsibility to protect and promote the health of Native communities, ensuring a future where all can thrive.
