The Hope & Healing is a podcast for Tribal citizens and Tribal leaders who want to learn about health options that offer more care and better care to Indian Country. The host for the podcast is Levi Rickert, editor and publisher of Native News Online. In each episode, he is joined by one of the experts at the National Indian Health Board, a national nonprofit organization established in 1972 by the Tribes to advocate as the united voice of federally recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes, to reinforce Tribal sovereignty, strengthen Tribal health systems, secure resources, and build capacity to achieve the highest level of health and well-being for American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Together, they’ll dive deep into topics and interview leaders from Indian Country and experts in Native health. And even though health care is a complex topic, they’ll be sure to keep things straightforward, accessible and jargon free.

Season One was supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $800,000 with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS. The contents are those of the guests(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement by, CMS/HHS or the U.S. government.
